Humber Works photographs of Peter Thacker

Maurice Freel has kindly sent me a wonderful collection of photographs and plans, which depict the Humber works, one of Coventry's largest car manufacturing companies, within a few years of the close of World War Two. Maurice's brother-in-law, Peter Geoffrey Thacker, worked at the Humber until 1952, which was where he met and later married Winifred Dolman, who worked in the wages department. Peter was a planning engineer and keen amateur photographer too, so anyone enjoying this selection of nostalgic images has him to thank for recording post-war factory life.
