Late 1930s
t's time to strap yourself back into the machine, and travel forward a couple of decades to around 1939. Much of Coventry's centre had recently been rebuilt - Trinity Street and Owen Owen's department store are only a year or so old - and for a very short time things must have appeared to be "on the up". All that, of course, was about to change....
For this reason, due to the extremely short time before war broke out, the availability of photographs for this period is rather limited.
Hovering your mouse cursor over the arrowed areas will change the photo in the corner to reflect what would have been in view at each place.
If your screen resolution is only 800 x 600 pixels, and you're having difficulty fitting the whole map on your monitor,
try pressing F11 on your keyboard to enlarge the browser area. (Pressing F11 again will restore the window.)
